Your eyes like tempered glass
Are the windows of your temple
From behind their drawn shades life's
So warm and simple
Then one day your shades were lifted
From back behind your gazing eyes
You watched you let the darkness enter
To your world so deep inside
You saw children starving hungry
You saw tears and doped up youths
You saw fists on naked bodies
You saw pain You saw the truth
Then one day from deep inside you
Tiny hands opened your windows
And with the rushing cold that entered
You finally felt the ice and snow
You felt the kick of tiny feet
You felt a cold abusive hand
Rushing through these open windows
All alone your body stands
In you the cold had entered
All your world an inch of strife
Imposing on your world so simple
Through your window entered life
I had a dream if it be told
Clouds were made of cotton
Hearts were made of gold
Streets were paved with hope
The houses furnished love
And a ruby sun was burning
In the Sapphire sky above.
Horses were dancing
In fields of paper flowers
There were starlit nights
In Celestial power
Wind was sweet and
The trees were tall
And a sense of peace
Enveloped all.
